Clive PC seeks community views on a potential communications mast

[Accessibility, image description: A close up of a person in a black t shirt holding a mobile phone outside on a paved area near a lawn].

Some months ago, the Council was approached by a resident to see if anything could be done about the poor and patchy mobile phone signal in Clive. Council representatives have had some initial discussions with Shropshire Council and Atlas Tower Group on how to improve mobile phone coverage and service in the area. As Clive is too far away from the existing communications masts, the proposal is to construct a communications mast within the parish where up to 4 mobile network providers could rent space. The Council is interested in exploring this proposal further but is very keen to gauge public opinion, before deciding whether or not it would support an eventual planning application for such a mast.

Please visit our dedicated webpage Communications mast proposal where you will find more information on the proposal.

Once you've read the Atlas Tower Group slides on our dedicated webpage, please email any thoughts, questions, or concerns you may have on this proposal to the Clerk. Please also consider attending the October Council meeting where this will be on the agenda for further discussion. The Parish Council will respect the community's wishes either way.

NB. Landowners are yet to be approached, and the locations on the Atlas Tower Group slides are therefore indicative only. Atlas Tower Group share the predicted coverage so that they can show the difference between the locations, and the impact that the distance/terrain has on each. Should the parish council/community support the proposed mast, Atlas Tower Group are only looking for consensual landowners. If those approached are not wanting to consider a mast, they will discount that option and will not contact them again.
