Defibrillator moved to Village Hall porch
Clive Parish Council
On Thurs 30th July, the Parish Council successfully moved the community defibrillator to the front porch of Clive Village Hall. The defibrillator is a portable life-saving device that can be used to give a shock (if needed) to help someone experiencing cardiac arrest. The Clive defibrillator is housed in a bright yellow, vandal-proof, lockable, temperature controlled cabinet. More information on what the defibrillator is for can be found on our Community Defibrillator webpage.
The Parish Council decided to relocate the defibrillator as the Village Hall was felt to be a more central location than the phone box, and also the porch security light would make it easier to access the defibrillator at night time. Thank you very much to the Vilage Hall Management Committee for giving permission for the move, and also to Cllr Peter Walters for being on site to assist the contractors during the relocation.
We have included an update on the defibrillator in the Aug Clive and Grinshill newsletter, and we have updated the new location on our Community Defibrillator webpage, as well as on The Circuit, a defibrillator network coordinated by the British Heart Foundation. This means that emergency services will have the correct location information in an emergency situation. If someone has collapsed and is not breathing, the first step is always to call to 999 and follow the instructions from the call handler. If you need to access the defibrillator they will tell you where it is, and the code to unlock the cabinet.
